MANVEL HISTORY is an effort to gather as much information as possible about our part of Brazoria County, Texas. The City of Manvel and it’s surrounding area have a long history, dating back over 150 years. Our region is booming, making this website a valuable resource for those visiting, newcomers, and long-time residents alike. Whether you are exploring Manvel for the first time or have lived here for decades, you will find a wealth of information here.
We are a small volunteer group and rely on people sharing family stories, old photographs, documents, memorabilia, or other interesting things from our past. If you have a story to tell (or know someone who does) please let us know by clicking the CONTRIBUTE button at the top of the screen. We exist only online, so we cannot take possession of any physical objects, photographs or other materials. We wish to make digital copies and all documents will remain in your possession.
Manvel History is operated through the Friends of the Manvel Library and is supported by both contributions and by memberships in the the Friends group. We also have received generous support from the City of Manvel. Thank You!

Interviews are recorded as the subjects remember events, and photographs and documents are presented with dates and discriptions provided by those who share them with us.
